Shannon Niquette Stewart-Ratliff was a contestant on Cycle 1 of ANTM. She finished as runner up to Adrianne Curry.
Since America’s Next Top Model, Shannon has modeled for Nuj Novakhett, Elle Girl Magazine, Teen Vogue, Sydney Magazine, Six Degrees Magazine and Ford Fusion. Shannon has appeared on the cover of Arizona Foothills Magazine, and Sound & Vision Magazine.
Her runway shows include Richard Tyler, Alice and Olivia (2006), Sprite Street Couture (2006), and Elle Girl presents Dare To Be You: Wal-Mart Meets America’s Next Top Models (2005), Fashion Institute of Technology (2006), Gustavo Arango (2006), Alice Dobson (2006) and Olympus Fashion Week (2006).
During ANTM Cycle 8, Shannon told the contestants that she had switched over to Elite Model Management in Chicago. She was also signed to Bleu Model Management.
She has been featured in Cycle 11 as one of CoverGirl’s Top Models in Action.
It was no secret to the other contestants that Shannon was devout Christian, never drinking or smoking. She was also very clear that she was waiting until marriage to lose her virginity. She ended up marrying Matt Ratliff in 2007.
Since the show, Shannon continued to model, and signed with Elite Models in Chicago and Major Model Management.

I looooved her personality and she seemed like a good girl on Cycle 1, but in all honesty, I find her look boring and forgettable.

I always liked Shannon, she was one of my favourites from the whole series. Good to see she has gotten a lot of work out of the show. Some of them, that won, I wasn’t so sure about. Anyone, Good Luck Shannon. You deserve it.

Shannon, you are no doubt, a beautiful and intelligent woman. If you are such a “christian”, how did you ever go on America’s Next Top Model in the first place? Bathing suite vs. bra and underwear??? Come on!

Out of all the ANTM girls, she’s my most favorite. She takes amazing pictures, has a really good personality, she’s beautiful inside and out, and she has one of the best runway walks ever. She should’ve won!

There were many models of iconic, legendary and pioneer status over the course of the 20th century that never posed nude. And if they did the photographs were very rarely published in fashion magazines. Twiggy Lawson and Lauren Hutton are amongst the models who didn’t pose nude (though Lauren Hutton did pose nude for the first time in old age). Society was much about elegance, sophistication…the debutante archetype in fashion. Girls needed to aspire to be something and so Dovima, Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, Suzy Parker and Carmen Dell’Orefice became their role models. I don’t dislike Shannon for choosing to not pose nude. She’s part of a dying breed of sophisticated models, but I am sad that she hasn’t modelled in Paris for Chane or Givenchy.

She is just an average looking girl – but add makeup and she looks like a standard 1990′s model.
Her odd double standard (no underwear – bathing suits are OK, but not if the bathing suit LOOKS LIKE underwear? WTH?
